The Coflore ACR is a 100 mL laboratory-scale flow reactor based on the principle of ten stirred tanks in series, employing a series of ten dynamically-mixed cells. The ACR delivers efficient mixing under excellent orderly-flow conditions for reaction times ranging from seconds up to many hours.According to the CSTRs in series model, the Coflore ACR flow reactor behaves as ten theoretical stages.
The Coflore ACR flow reactor can handle a wide range of reaction mixtures, ranging from liquid-liquid, liquid-solid to liquid-solid-gas, under a variety of reaction conditions.
For a 5-minute residence time, the Coflore ACR can continuously produce up to 1.2 L per hour, or 28.8 L continuously per day. It is designed to facilitate chemical process feasibility and optimisation at the laboratory-scale, or the production of smaller amounts of product from expensive starting materials.
The Coflore ATR is a 10 L actively-mixed tubular flow reactor that operates from 0.35 L to 10 L in reactor volume, having been developed for the production of material at the pilot scale. Configured of up to eight reactor tubes in series, the ATR flow reactor exhibits excellent orderly-flow, with experimental data demonstrating well over 100 theoretical stages. Each of the eight tubes can be heated or cooled independently of each other. Reagents can be added (or samples removed) and thermocouples paced at each end of each reaction tube.
The Coflore ATR can process a wide range of reaction mixtures (even those with heavy slurries) without blocking or fouling, making it ideal for a wide range of chemical processes including hydrogenation and Grignard formation which can be fully-automated for ease-of-use and safety.
For a 5-minute residence time, the Coflore ATR can continuously produce up to 120 L per hour, or 2,880 L continuously per day.
The Coflore RTRhas a 100 L capacity that is capable of processing countless reactor volumes without interruption. For a 5-minute residence time, the Coflore RTR can produce 1,200 L continuously per hour, or 28,800 L continuously per day. Such high throughputs have the potential to produce many thousands of tonnes of material per year.
The Coflore RTR flow reactor is designed to compete with batch chemical production in terms of throughput and versatility, whilst offering the many improved efficiencies of flow including yields, purities, selectivities, a smaller reactor footprint, lower fugitive emissions, lower energy usage and reduced hazard risks.
